Wooler and Glendale

Gateway to the Cheviot Hills

Val Keating : Chairman

Born and brought up on Tyneside, I moved back North in 2007. With my husband Mike, I settled in Crookham where we were lucky to find a very welcoming community. We were soon involved in a wide variety of local activities: fundraising for our village hall, establishment of the Gardening Club and archaeology to name but a few. I was asked to consider joining the Parish Council because my experience of national Government (I worked for the Home Office) someone thought might be helpful in helping to work out some of the information that emanates from the County Council. I have found it fascinating and feel privileged to act on the community's behalf.

Richard Baker: Vice Chairman

I moved to Etal Village in 2008 from South Yorkshire with my wife and family to run Etal Post Office and The Lavender Tearooms. For me it's all about the community and the area. So when I was asked if I would like to be a Parish Councillor, I thought this would be a good opportunity to understand the area more and support the community. I have been in Ford PC since 2010 and became Vice Chairman in April 2012. From not being on any committees in South Yorkshire, I now find myself on several committees in the area.
