Why have a community forum?

The Community Forum will help bring local issues from a wider area together to provide the critical mass that is needed to effectively influence change whilst at the same time ensuring the characteristics of different parts of the county that exist below area level are well reflected.

How does the community forum work?

The Forum is open to everyone; anyone who has an interest in the future well-being of that locality can attend meetings or get involved. Within this, all participants have the same rights in giving their views and being heard. The forum has an independant Chair who is elected on a yearly basis, the current Chair is Jane Pannell. The forum is serviced by a local secretariat which is currently the Glendale Gateway Trust, they provide support to the Chair for paperwork, publicity and in organising future meetings.

What is expected of the community forum?

Glendale Community Forum will allow all levels of elected democracy to actively engage with their wider local constituency so they can ensure their decision-making can be as well informed as possible and that the services they are responsible for are meeting the needs of residents.
